Uvix Impregnation EOOD treated around 660 cubic metres of oak poles with TANALITH E wood preservative to support the settlement platforms.

The oak poles replace what was believed to be 6000 original poles ranging between 13-30 cms in diameter.

In the original settlement, dating between 3500 and 500 BC, dwellings built of timber, straw and reeds were erected on the platforms reaching up to 300 metres from the shoreline.
