Symbol of Asenovgrad, the historical place “Asen’s Fortress” has been transformed.

Thanks to European fonds and the financial support of municipality Asenovgrad “Asen’s Fortress” has been transformed into an attractive tourist destination.

Besides the new look, the tourist destination is supplied with improved infrastructure and polylingual tour guide system.

Medieval weapons and machines have been displayed for the recreation of the historical reality: wooden ballistas, catapults, battering rams and an eigth meter long fortified tower.

Uvix Impregnation EOOD was assigned to treat the weapons and machines, produced from coniferous. These were pressure treated using Tanatone® wood preservative.

Pressure treated timber is protected against decay and insects.
